JESSICA CLARKE
Jessica Clarke is a former England international footballer whose career has helped shape the modern women’s game. With over 50 caps for the Lionesses, she represented England at the UEFA Women’s European Championship, the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and proudly competed for Team GB at the London 2012 Olympic Games. She scored 11 goals for England, including a standout performance in the UEFA Euro 2009 semi-final.
Jessica established herself as a respected and influential figure in English football, making more than 100 Women’s Super League appearances. She made her senior debut for Leeds United at just 16, scoring in the 2008 FA Women’s Cup Final, before spells with Lincoln Ladies, Notts County and Liverpool, where she emerged as a natural leader. After overcoming a career threatening injury, she brought her experience and resilience to Durham before retiring in 2023.
Now a broadcaster and pundit, Jessica brings insights, and lived experience to radio and television audiences. She is also an engaging keynote speaker, who delivers powerful talks on resilience, wellbeing, the rise of the women’s game, LGBTQ+ representation, tackling racism and overcoming personal and societal barriers.
In 2025, she founded The Jessica Clarke Initiative, using football as a catalyst to uplift disengaged and disadvantaged young people and create positive pathways within schools and communities.
